What is Reiki?

Reiki, pronounced (ray-key) is a rediscovered ancient natural "hands on healing" system that utilizes universal energy for the purpose of healing and transformation. The word Reiki is made up of two Japanese words - Rei meaning "the essence of God" -- and Ki which means "vital life force energy". So Reiki means spiritually guided life force energy that promotes health and healing. The Reiki energy may be experienced as tingling sensations, warmth, colors or images that gently stimulate the body's own innate wisdom to heal at the root of the problem, promoting a holistic balancing of mind, body and spirit.

How does Reiki Heal?

The human being is a finely tuned organism of subtle energy that flows in and around our physical, spiritual, mental and emotional body. This natural life force energy flows freely and when unconstricted sustains our life and promotes health. Continued stress in the form of negative thought patterns, unresolved trauma, fear, worry, anxiety, and anger block the flow of energy and impede the body's natural ability to heal itself thus creating dis-ease within the physical, mental, emotional and/or spiritual body.

Reiki loosens blocked energy, cleanses the body of built up toxins, relieves pain, soothes stress, shock and trauma by calming the mind and emotions. Reiki restores vitality and balances the flow of energy while accelerating the body's natural ability to heal itself, promote a state of total relaxation, and well-being.

Reiki is a safe, gentle, nurturing yet powerful method of healing that enhances and complements conventional therapy, traditional medical treatments, and one's spiritual or religious philosophies and ideologies. Unlike massage, it is not necessary for the client to remove their clothing to benefit from a Reiki healing. Reiki sessions consists of the practitioner's strategic "laying on of hands" on or slightly above the client's body. The universally guided energy is channeled through the practitioner, and is drawn to where the client most needs it. Reiki energy is pure, natural, loving and deeply healing. Initial sessions consists of a consultation, assessment and a combination of appropriate healing tools. Sessions can last between 1 and 2 hours depending on the client's needs and an empty bladder is recommended before beginning a session. A minimum of four sessions is recommended for beginning the process of consistent overall healing.

Reiki Initiations

Reiki initiations are sacred ceremonies that "re-attune" an individual to the Universal Source of energy through the strategic application of sacred symbols and focused intention.

Reiki has three formal degrees of initiation, training and practice that are independent in their application and yet build on each level for enhanced growth and mastery. To become a professionally trained Reiki practitioner and/or master teacher one must receive the appropriate 1st, 2nd, or 3rd degree "attunements," class instruction, training, practice and certification by a certified Reiki master/teacher.

First degree Reiki attunements and instruction focus on consciously raising and aligning the individual's vibrational frequency to the vibrational rhythm of the Universe, resulting in a consistent flowing channel of healing energy. This spiraling energy force can be experienced as a powerful self-cleansing, purifying, transforming and healing tool. Second degree Reiki attunements further raise the individual's vibration and intensify the healing and transformational process. Initiates are instructed in the sacred knowledge, power and usage of the Reiki symbols along with focused concentration exercises to stimulate the development of the intuitive center located in the pituitary gland, more commonly referred to as the third eye, which acts as a sending and receiving station for mental vibrations. Third degree Reiki initiates receive the master symbol which connects to the 5th dimension penetrating the seven human layers, spiritual principles for self-mastery and the Reiki teacher practicum. A comprehensive manual is provided along with certification for all levels of instruction.

*$50.00 dollar deposit for Reiki 1 and 2 is required two weeks prior to class and balance to be paid 1st. day of class. **$200.00 dollar deposit for Reiki 3 is required two weeks prior to class and balance to be paid 1st. day of class.

REIKI SCHOLARSHIPS AND SPONSORSHIPS

The Sacred Temple of Healing and Transformation offers Reiki scholarships and sponsorships. Scholarships are based on demonstrated need and in alignment with universal principles, and laws of reciprocity require an appropriate form of energy exchange. Sponsorships require organizing a class in your area of at least 6 - 8 initiates, locating a suitable class space and collecting and forwarding initial deposits two weeks prior to the scheduled class in exchange for your class fee waiver.
