WHAT: PRESS CONFERENCE Demanding that the Reverend Jessie Jackson help us
free political prisoners in the United States.
WHEN: SATURDAY, MAY 8th, 1999 8:30 A.M.
WHERE: OPERATION P.U.S.H. HEADQUARTERS
930 E. 50th Street, Chicago
Though the United States government denies their existence, there are now
over a hundred and fifty known political prisoners and prisoners of war in
the federal and state prisons through-out the United States, among them
dozens of Sisters and Brothers of Afrikan descent who, in the words of Dr.
Mutulu Shakur, "dared to uphold the spirit and principles of Malcolm X.
with their lives and freedom." These Sisters and Brothers are the longest
held political prisoners in the world and they are lavishing in jail for
crimes the Government knows they did not commit. Not only have they been
denied human contact with their family and other loved ones but many of
them have been brutally tortured. Mumia is still on Death Row and the FOP
in Philadelphia had a benefit to raise money to kill Mumia on the 23rd of
April (tickets went for $100 a head.) We can no longer afford to be
silent!!
In the wake of Jesse Jackson freeing three American servicemen held by
Belgrade since March 31, 1999 we are asking the community to join us for a
press conference being held on tomorrow, Saturday, May 8th, 8:30 A.M. at
Operation P.U.S.H. Headquarters, located in CHICAGO @ 930 E. 50th Street
to DEMAND that Jessie Jackson help us free our Political Prisoners &
Prisoners of war here in the United States. It's time for Amerika to
clean-up her own house!!!
UHURU SASA!!!!!
