Police superintendent Terry Hillard and his lawyer -- who are conspiring to
cover up police torture, brutality and conspiracy -- walked out of the last
police board meeting when the audience protested Hillard's refusal to answer
civilian questions.

Don't let police superintendent Hillard and the FOP cover up police
misconduct and bargain away our rights! Protest police torture and
misconduct!

Police Board meeting
Thursday • May 13 • 7:30 p.m.
Police headquarters • 1121 S. State St.

You MUST call 312-747-6268 by 4:00 p.m. today to get on the speakers' list
for today's police board meeting!

Police brutality opponents will again challenge police superintendent Terry
Hillard about his office¹s involvement in covering up police wrongdoing at
this month's police board meeting. Hillard has failed abysmally in
protecting
the public trust in two of the most important issues that have come before
his office: allegations of police torture and wrongful conviction; and
allegations of police wrongdoing in the Jorge Guillen police homicide. And
at
the same time, the City of Chicago is negotiating even greater protections
for brutal police in current contract talks with the Fraternal Order of
Police.

Hillard¹s administration threw out OPS findings of police torture in a
number
of cases, including those of death row inmates who were convicted based on
false confessions obtained through torture. Police officers who committed
torture remain on the force, and have since been accused of coercing false
confessions and cooking evidence in more recent wrongful conviction cases.
Plus, new depositions show that Hillard's office threw out OPS findings of
police misconduct in the Jorge Guillen police homicide.

Yet as we speak, the Fraternal Order of Police and the City of Chicago are
negotiating reduced record-keeping and public oversight in current contract
talks. Don't let the City bargain away civilian rights! And don't let
Hillard
and his stooges cover up brutality and torture! Speak out at tonight's
police
board meeting!
